👋 Hi there! I'm Brandon Templar (he/him) and much like 🍕, I fell in love with the 🌍 wide web when I first met it. I live outside Washington, D.C. and enjoy design, coding, technology, gaming, and cuddling my 🐈‍⬛🐈.

Ever since publishing my first website in the 90s during grade school, I've been captivated by the internet. The idea that I could design a simple webpage and make it accessible to anyone was profound. Throughout middle and high school, I taught myself HTML and CSS. This is where I discovered my passion for designing and building web components.

As a designer/developer hybrid with 15 years of experience, I specialize in design systems. These systems allow me to collaborate with various groups. I've assisted notable organizations like Twilio, Smartsheet, and The Washington Post in solving complex system challenges, shipping brand-new design systems, and maintaining and evolving existing ones.

Outside of work, my passions include mentoring designers, playing video games, drawing/painting, and watching reality TV.

I built this website from scratch to establish my presence on the web. It's a static site generated by Eleventy.js and Nunjucks. I view my website as a platform to implement what I've learned. The site is always a work in progress, with plenty of updates planned.
