The Return of Personal Websites

There was a time when personal sites were all the rage. I think social media really killed that idea, by providing easy platforms to post content on, and the tools to disseminate that content. When you build a business on social media, it's becoming an increasing liability since you do not own that network. You are behest to their policies.

I stumbled upon and immediately bookmarked both Ooh! Directory and Personal Sit.es. I've been revisiting them regularly, and it brings me so much joy seeing an explosion on the emphasis on personal sites. It's inspired me to dive back into my own personal site, a project that I've picked up and abandoned cyclically for the last 5 years.

I hope this site becomes a catalyst for writing more about design, development, and photography. I'm also learning Eleventy.js. Thanks for following along! Don't forget to follow the feed.
